Website Analytics for Small Businesses

Find out what your website is actually doing: which pages get read, where enquiries come from, and what people do just before they give up.

Most small business websites are flying blind. The owner knows roughly how many enquiries came in and nothing else: not which page convinced them, not which page loses everyone, not whether the money spent on ads brought anybody at all. We set up proper analytics, configure it so it respects your customers and UK cookie law, and send you a plain English report every week. You do not have to log into anything or learn a dashboard.

The questions analytics actually answers

Which of your pages people read, and which ones they leave immediately. Where your visitors come from: Google, Facebook, a directory, or somebody typing your name in directly. Which town they are in. Whether they are on a phone or a laptop. And how many of them ever reach the page where they can contact you.

That last one is the number most businesses have never seen. Traffic is not the goal. Traffic that reaches your contact page is the goal, and the gap between the two is usually where the money is going.

A weekly email, not a dashboard to learn

Analytics tools are built for full-time marketing teams. They are enormous, and most business owners open them twice and never again. That is not a failure of discipline, it is a failure of the tool.

So we do it the other way round. The dashboard is there if you ever want it, but every week you get an email: what changed, which pages people actually read, where they came from, and how many got as far as asking you for something. If a number moves in a way that matters, you will see it without going looking.

Set up so it respects your customers

Analytics done carelessly is a legal problem. UK rules are clear that analytics cookies are not essential, which means nothing may be set until a visitor agrees to it. Plenty of small business websites are quietly breaking this, usually because a plugin was installed and nobody read what it did.

We wire tracking behind a real cookie banner, so nothing loads and nothing is stored until someone says yes. We keep the data in the EU, we do not record your visitors' screens, and we write the privacy policy wording to match what is actually collected rather than a generic template.

Proof for the money you spend

If you are paying for ads, boosting posts, or paying somebody for SEO, analytics is what tells you whether any of it worked. Without it, you are taking the word of the person you are paying.

With it, you can see which source actually sends people who get in touch, and which one sends numbers that look impressive and do nothing. That is often the single most valuable thing analytics does in the first month.

It shows you what to fix, not just what is wrong

Numbers on their own are not much use. The value is in what they point at: a service page everyone leaves in ten seconds, a contact page nobody reaches from mobile, a town sending traffic that you have no page for.

Because we build websites too, the report is not the end of it. When something in the numbers points at a problem on the site, we can tell you what to do about it, and fix it if you want us to.

Set up once, no ongoing homework

We install it, configure it, connect it to your cookie banner, update your privacy policy, and set up the weekly report. After that it runs on its own.

It works on the website you already have, whether or not we built it. Analytics setup is quoted per job, and once it is in there is nothing for you to do except read an email on a Monday.
